TEANECK
-- Welcome to The NJS.com Audio Spotlight.
Joining
us today is Ramapo girls basketball coach Sandy Gordon, whose
team knocked off High Point, 44-33, in the quarterfinals of the
North 1, Group 3 state sectional tournament.
It
was the first game that the Green Raiders played since they won
the girls basketball program's first-ever Bergen County championship
last Sunday and they had to shake off the euphoria of that and
dive right back into tournament play.
Ramapo,
the No. 2 seed, was led by 14 points from sophomore point guard
Sarah Halejian with 10 of those coming in the second half, while
senior Ana Drehwing carried the offense early and finished with
12 points. Ramap will host No. 10 Wayne Hills, an upset winner
over No. 3 Lakeland, in the sectional semfinals on Saturday.
Cieplicki
talks about his team's big win, the challenge that lies ahead
and various and sundry other items of interest in this edition
